Your host Barbara Ewens welcomes you to this ca.1860 homestead with its original character. The home was used as a Guest House for thirty years from 1890. Today, this tranquil guesthouse is renowned for its views, relaxed atmosphere and warm hospitality.

Offering views of the sea and surrounding farmland, this is the perfect place to spoil yourself for a night, a weekend, or a week. All your needs are catered for, including a cooked or continental breakfast in the morning, 4-wheel drive tours, hire cars and bus tours easily arranged by nearby tourist information office.

Guest bedrooms have been kept to a maximum of five to ensure comfort and privacy. Each room offers delightful decor reminiscent of a gentler time. The deluxe rooms are particularly romantic with their fabulous four-poster beds and ensuite bathrooms making it a perfect hideaway.

Three of the five bedrooms have fire places, original polished floors and all have ensuites. Heating and cooling is provided in all rooms.

Guests can enjoy breakfast with pleasant sea views from the dining room. Sometimes a glimpse of dolphins frolicking offshore sets the mood for a day filled with natural wonders and delight... and nature has lavished Kangaroo Island with more than its fair share.

Located at Penneshaw , Seaview Lodge is ideally situated in it's closeness to the ferry terminal from the mainland. The small township of some 400 people nestled on a point overlooking the mainland has an abundance of wildlife, particularly at night. The fairy penguins and Tammar wallabies are seen in and around the town most evenings.

The cottage-style gardens feature roses and older style cottage plants and Australian native shrubs which attract scores of Blue Wrens, Goldfinches, Honeyeaters and other native Australian birds. Simply sitting on the verandah, enjoying the views is a pleasant and relaxing experience.

I live on the premises and do my best to ensure that my guests enjoy the comfort of an old-fashioned Bed & Breakfast. Staying at Seaview Lodge is a fine way to enjoy the charm of Kangaroo Island. Its heritage and location will surely make your holiday a memorable one.
